ECO+ CPEC: 13th Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) with the theme of “Connectivity for Regional Prosperity” 9 Countries Presidents and prime ministers in Islamabad
The Economic Cooperation Organization was the successor organisation of what was the Regional Cooperation for Development (RCD), founded in 1964, which ended activities in 1979. In 1985 Iran, Pakistan and Turkey joined to form the ECO. By the fall of 1992, the ECO expanded to include seven new members; Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani arrived in Pakistan to attend the Economic Coordination Organisation (ECO) meeting beginning in Islamabad from March 1.


Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan arrived in Islamabad, Pakistan on a two-day visit to attend the Economic Coordination Organisation (ECO) meeting beginning in Islamabad from March 1, 2017


Azerbaijan president arrived in Islamabad to attend 13 ECO summit,. A high-level meeting between PM Nawaz Sharif and Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev held in Islamabad. The two sides agreed to set the goal of concluding agreements of Preferential Tariff and Trade, investment, energy and other areas of economic cooperation.
