Peshawar BRT (Bus Rapid Transit): ADB Approves $ 335 Million Loan for 26 Km Peshawar Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) with estimated cost 60 Billion Rs. KP government would take Rs 52 billion loan from Asian Development Bank for execution of Peshawar Metro Bus project in the province. 4,000 jobs expected to be generated by the project, 10% are expected to be for women.The system is expected to benefit 500,000 people in the city “CPEC Projects report”.
The scope of the project includes construction of a 26 kilometer, 31 station BRT corridor and associated facilities, including 2 depots, park-and-ride facilities, bicycle lanes, sidewalks, streetlights, as well as improved drainage to climate-proof the corridor.
NHA Approved up-gradation of 160 Km Jaglot-Sakardu Road with cost 31 Billion Rs under the China Pakistan Economic Corridor CPEC. The Executive Board of the National Highway Authority has approved the project for widening and up-gradation of Jaglot-Skardu strategic road in the CPEC Upcoming Projects.
The meeting was informed that 164 km road will be completed at a cost of Rs. 31 billion in three years time. The existing route that is not in a good condition will be improved and widened along with smoothening of the sharp curves which will not only make travelling safer but also reduce the travel time to a considerable extent. It will bring prosperity and development in both areas to reduce traffic problems and ensure reliability and facility for visitors.
NHA approved 2 section of Islamabad Airport Metro. The Executive Board also gave its nod for the two packages of Islamabad Metro Bus track. The first package from Peshawar Mor to G-13 is 8 km long and will cost Rs. 6.5 billion whereas the second package form G-13 up to N-5 Interchange is 3.8 km and will cost Rs. 5.5 billion.
CPEC Projects Report of East West Corridor: Construction of 4 Lane Bridge across River Sindh linking DI Khan to Islamabad Motorway Yarik Interchange and Kalur Kot (Bhakkar) with 2 lane approach road approved by NHA with cost 7 Billion Rs. It will link shortly Indus Highway and MM Road.It is part of Major Bridges on River Indus advised by JICA 2006 Report.

CPEC UPCOMING ENERGY PROJECTS : 1400 MW Tarbela under construction. Tunnel 4th hydro power project is to be completed soon , construction work and tunnel is ready and just small amount of mechanical and electrical department work is remaining , which may be completed in mid of 2017.
